There are 8 neighborhood groups in Pinellas and Pasco Counties
If you are looking for an opportunity for community service, at SKIPPED STITCHES we sew clothing for foster children, cancer caps, blankets for the elderly, bibs for nursing homes, isolette covers for premies and quilts from veterans. We have a unique program presentation each month on all kinds of sewing techniques and projects including home dec, garments, purses, and craft projects.
HAPPY HOOPERS is a special interest group (SIG) dedicated to embroidery. They work together to find solutions to issues related to machine emboidery.
THE MATERIAL GALS
THE MATERIAL GALS are interested in sewing many different items such as purses, totes, garments, quilts and lots more. We have several community service projects that we work on throughout the year. Never dull moment. We have lots of fun especially on our day trips (Ladies Day Out). We are game to go to area events, fabric shops or just to eat. So if you are interested in joining our group you are more than welcome to enjoy a night out.
CREATIVE THREADS is an embroidery Special Interest Group (SIG) that concentrates on all aspects of machine embroidery. Past programs have included topics such as embroidery machine basics, thread and stabilizer selection, downloading and saving embroidery designs, and numerous embroidery techniques. Because embroidery machines are too heavy, they are not brought to the meeting. Show and Tell is a big part of every meeting. Members show their embroidered pieces and share information about embroidery designs, embroidery websites, fabrics, threads, and stabilizers. They may also discuss various challenges encountered with designs or techniques and ask for suggestions from the group on how to achieve better results.
The DESIGNING LADIES neighborhood group is made up of sewists from beginners to experts. The group is open to all projects and enjoys experimenting with uncommon methods and ideas. Past interests have included home decorations, quilting, fashion accessories, pattern making, garment construction, and learning how to use various sewing machine and serger accessories.
Loose Threads neighborhood group shares knowledge for sewing, quilting and serger techniques.
We have show and share each month for projects that are done by our members. We also do various community service projects.
